Montoya recognized by Association of Women in Communications-DC Chapter

ALEXANDRIA, Va., December 11, 2007 – The Washington, DC Professional Chapter of the Association of Women in Communications (AWC-DC) named Carol Montoya, CAE, recipient of one of its 2007 Chapter Star Awards. Montoya is President of Potomac Management Resources, a full-service association management and event planning firm in Alexandria, VA.

Montoya has served four years as the AWC-DC Chapter’s Vice President, Finance.  In addition to hosting Board meetings for the chapter, she provides oversight and staff support for chapter events and programs. Previously an officer of Women in Advertising & Marketing, Montoya was instrumental in transitioning that organization’s annual tea at the Willard into an AWC-DC hallmark event.

Maggie Szymanek, the Chapter’s Vice President, Operations, and president of Uncommon Photography, was also awarded a 2007 Chapter Star Award for her contribution of photography services and consistent excellent management of the Chapter’s administrative logistics.

Chapter Star awards were given at the AWC 2007 national conference in Orlando.
